Blissfield Michigan May 13th 1861 Dear Bro Mother is very sick Inflamitory Rhumatism, and is suffering very much. Wife and myself was with her yesterday. I think she will recover from this, but [fears?] may be apprehend ded. The rest all well. No collision of Armies yet, but great preparations are being made .— cant be put off much longer. Last Friday at St Louis. The Secession Gov sent a company of 800 into the City to take the Arsenal. The City resisted and took them all prisoners of War! While marching them into the City. They were attacked by a Mob Baltimore like. The Military fired upon them and killed 30. Among them 2 Women and some children The weather continues wet.— discouraging for farming.
