Dear Parents
		I now set down
to inform you of my safe
arrival hear   Though carelessne

I missed the mail train and
had to take the freight but
however I was not alone long
for when we got to owosso
thare was S P Williams & Abram
Cook who had stoped for dinner
and was left, We arrived in 
town at 20 minutes to [illegible] went to
the [Phinial?] house [illegible] a turkey
and got in camp just as
the [tat too?] blew 10 minits later
and we should have had to
camp out, The arest of Lieu.
Colonel Davies is all a hoax
he is heer and has ben all weak
Thare was a court martial
held hear last wensday [illegible]
four of the Jackson Ruffs
was sent to jail for thirty
days every other on bread and
water them to be discharged
from seirvis without pay
for stoning a Lieutenant
if they had ben in the field they
would have ben shot, The
fair is to be held heer next
wensday when the [illegible] th rigiment
will appeer in full uniform
I am on my first duty as
corporal of the guard
