Citty Point May 5th 1865 Dear Brother and Sister I reward you a few lines [illegible] go was very glad to hear from you again I m calling [illegible] again now have zat nearly over the jaundice but my Heart is Some Sore I have got a big musterd plaster on my throat and chest to days and it is Some better I keep it raped up in a flannel cloth wet in canpor I think it will be well in a day or two I think we will Start for Washing ton tomorrow but may not we have one man very sick with the Typhoid fever in this ward the [illegible] thinks he is Some better has got his fever broke I have set up with him three knights there is a number wounded but none very bad I have not got any news to write only the boys had quite a time at dismounted camp the officers put on a good many airs and made the boys drill twice a day and they thought it was not nessesary so they did not come out to drill at all and Col the officers, of a Tennisy [illegible] regment was in command of our division they did not like him So they bothered him all they could they at last went at the [illegible] they tore down their tents and Scattered his [illegible] in every direction a Leutennant Shot a man and killed him and in less than one minit he had five balls through him they were both buried in one grave I gess they were both to blame my reg was on guard that night garding the Seetlers they would not fire on the boys when they come up the colo in com was there and ordered them to fire and at the Same time fired his revolver at one of the boys hit him but tc did not hurt him mu Some one hit him with a club and knocked him off his horse and chased him in to the woods but enough of this give my love to all the friends teel Jenny [crossed out][I] that I am much obliged for that picture she wuld like to see the babys picture good bye write Soon direct to reg L A Hall
