Robert writes to his sister Helen Rogers from Camp Stockton, noting that he is currently unwell with a bad cough. Robert details that Erastus is well and has been working with a number of horses, writing that eventually the company will be assigned horses of all one color. Robert details that their Company has been assigned the letter A, and that everyone in the Regiment is in good health, with the exceptions of colds, and is enjoying the warmer dry weather. Robert continues by noting that he is not sure how much longer they will remain in the area but suspects they will likely leave next month to join General Burnside's division. Robert concludes by writing that he received a letter from Louisa and Mary, as well as one from Uncle Lymans' folks.
