this Sunday finds me 
well & I will improve a 
moment in writing to you 
the weather is very moderate 
to day. Some [illegible] we have 
had considerable rains in the 
past week or two the com 
is out on inspection now 
here before the Gents the

So we have but one Commis^ 
Officer in our Company 
but there be apt to be Some

was one the other day that is 
James L permoted to Sargent 
there was one fellow got his discha 
rge night before last I dont 
know as I want my discharge 
in the way he took his he 
marched before the Battalion 
when on dress parade with 3 [crossed out] [bay]
