James Lickly writes to his brother William, detailing that he was sick but is slowly improving. Lickly notes that there has been a rumor in camp stating they will soon be heading for Tennessee, however he is not sure if this is true. Lickly acknowledges the deaths in Wright that William mentioned, and details that he saw in a newspaper that a conscription act has passed. Lickly continues by thanking William for assisting his wife while he is away. He further writes that they are located about one mile from Danville, Kentucky, and that they left Lexington on the 21st of February, leaving behind Ralph Stout, Philip Conklin, Alfred Dewel, and others unfit to travel.
