I do wish you would write and tell me what part of the World you may be found in I dont know as you will ever get this but I will try. Mother said in her last that she had had a letter from you and you was well I am glad to hear that. she did not say whare your wer, but I saw by the Papers the other day that the 7th Your Regt wer in N Y. doing Guard duty. well you will see by this that Our Regt is Back in Old Ky. again and you may believe we are all glad to get away from Missippi for we had a very hard time thare Our Jackson Campaign was rough on us and it was very sickly down thare Diseas was more dangerous than the Rebs Ball although they flew rather thick around us at Jackson but I came out all tanned and am enjoying as good health now as I usually do. I hope this will find you well. I had a letter from Home a few days ago all was going on well thare Oh how does the [Girls?] get along Alvah do you hear from them now a days I had a letter from Miss Mary [illegible] she writes a good letter she said you owed her a letter and she was looking for one from you. yes and I received one from another Miss. it is best for me not to tell I guess so I will leave it for you to guess. Do you hear from the [illegible] Girls. I am quite Anxious to know for I think a good deal of those ce Girls for the short acquaintan I had with them Well Alvah I am pretty tired to night and I guess I will close this and if you get it please answer it and I will try to do better next time You must be sure and write Home often and write to me as often as you can tell me what kind of time you have now.
