As I have ben writing a little to Mr. and Mrs. Terry. I will drop you a few lines inclosed with theirs. as DeWitt Spaulding is sending to Mr. [Bangers?] Folks for a box this morning and wants to know if I want any thing sent with his. I thought I would let you know so if you have anything which you wish to send you can do so but I shall not expect any thing as I have no money to send you to get things with. and I know just how things are with you now dont put yourself to much trouble to get things but if you have any little thing you wish to send take it or send it to Mr. [Bangs?], and they will send it. I suppose we shall remain here for a month or more. we have a very pleasant Camp Ground and the weather is fine now although we have had some very cold days when my Over coat [come?] good I am so glad you made me take it with me tell Sarah she must write also Freddy it seems strange that I don't get any letters yet But I think the mail today will bring me some. at least I hope so Well Mother I hardly know what to write about for I have written so many letters and recd none I have run out so you will please write as soon as you get this.
