I am happy to say Yours found me in rather better health I am not on the gain but not in as to go to my Company yet. I went and had a long talk with Dr. Fox this morning and told him I did not want to go to my Company to do duty until I was well and tough enough to stand it and he said I should not go until I got tough and then we had a long talk about Home and Old times when he used to Doctor around Fenton he says he used to Dr. Grandfathers folks and Uncle Ben Uncle [Millory?] etc and then he spoke about DeWitt Spaulding. he took the letters got from him and sent it to Dr - - VanSycklesfolks of Parshal Ville well Mother I suppose this will be hard for You to read for I am writing it so fine but I have a good many words to say on this one little sheet and this is all I can get at the sanitary today we get two of these half sheets every day if we want them I shall get some from the Sutlers as soon as I get able or get over being so lazy so as to go down whare he is. Now Mother dont worry about me for I am not Sick enough to suffer any. I am only just comfortable sick .. it is not real sickness .. but I am to weak to be fit for duty and it is caused by cold night Sweets the Dr. gave me something to stop them this morning. now dont fret about me for perhaps I am better off here in the Hospital than I would be in the Regt. I suppose you have all the News of our [muss?] here of Friday last. Our Regt did not get into that much we only lost one killed and some fifteen Wounded I think it was a big thing on ice in the summer I am sorry you are having such dry weather it is very dry here. but as for the Cow if hay is like to be high this Winter and yes if not I guess you had better sell the Cow and take what money it would cost to winter her and buy milk and ble Butter and then you wont have the trou^ of taking care of her for as Fred is gone it would be to much for you to do so I would advise you to sell her for what ever you can get. at any time to suit you best You said You had not recd any money from Alvah yet. I recd 2.00 dollars from him a few days ago but he said he had to borrow it for he had not been paid yet I expect we shall get our pay soon. and I guess you would like a little money woulden't you well you must except this short letter this time Mother and dont worry about me just keep yourself as comfortable as you can and write often to Your Affectionate Son Frank
