Rosa mentions that she was married on June 23rd to a civilian clerk (Byron Lovell). Her new husband wants her to move into his father's home in Lockport, New York, but Rosaltha wishes to remain at her home in Coomer. Rosa also notes that she did not get any new clothes for her wedding--apart from a white straw hat--because she does not "believe" in the custom.
