Mattoon Letter : January 7, 1865

George writes to his brother Gershom about his present condition. He expects to collect over 200 dollars of pay in the near future and he describes attending various meetings in the hospital including Bible lessons, group prayer, and temperence meetings. It is not clear why George is in the hospital.
