Dear. Brother. your. letter came to hand
thiS morning and I was glad to hear
from you and to hear that you. ware. well
it found me well as [comon?] we have Some
cold weather here we have very eaSy
timeS to wahat you have at the front

you Said that you thought of getting a furlo

to go home I hope that you not think. of. reinlis
ting again I hope that you may get a furlow

of yourS I have hired brewer to

winter ^ aS hay waS very high it waS
Selling for 15 dollarS a ton I thought it
waS beter for to hire them wintered
than to depend on buying foder for all of
them they have two cows and three

calves to winter and the Sheep that
they have taken on Shares and the horSS
horSeS to winter I dont know but he
had beter Sell one or both of the horSeS
and pay the dets for he has to [buey?]
their keeping if the Stears ware
broke Sum thiS winter they would
do to work Some next fall. I hope that
you will bee at home to take care of
them yourSelf by that time I you. keep
your health and get out of the. Service
I hope that the war may be over by that
time if not before thare iS Some detS to be
paid I Shall Send my mony home
aS Soon aS I get it we have not been
paid yet I dont know as we
Shall before next marck for it lookS
rather dull but we may get it in a few
dayS if you go. home on a ferlow you
can find out more about the. afairS at
home than I can tell you for I am. willin
