Agnes Mattoon's cousins, Rosa and someone who signed their name "A W," wrote to Agnes about Christmas and family matters. Rosa notes that she had an uneventful Christmas and the weather was not conducive to sleighing. She closes by describing her newly acquired clothes, especially her hats and a turban. Agnes' other cousin briefly mentions going to school in the winter and exchanging photographic portraits.
