[Penciled in on top of Scan 1] [1862] [End] Aug 21 Coomer [crossed out] [Sept.] Dear Coussin Your letter of june 24 was recieved in due time, and should have been answered before had I not been so busy. Father & Mother went to Ridgeway two weeks ago, & last week to Avoca Stuben Co. Mother came home last night. Father has not come yet. she enjoyed her visit very much. Aunt Betsy staid with us children she anticipates keeping house soon, she is driving to Mr Clements this summer June is to Mr Belnap on the Ridge her health is very good. Minerva is still living to Mr Curtis Mary & Jim gets along well he is thrashing this fall. Wednesday (Old) Mr Lemon was buried on [crossed out] [wensday] last he had the Cholera morbus he died very suddenly I went to a Picnic a few weeks ago had a splendid time. I have also been to the Falls to see Mr Blondin walk the rope across Niagara river, he is certainly preforming wonders. just think, a man carrying a man on his back on a rope 850 feet long & 200 feet from the water. He is to walk wesdnesday after dark. he makes money. we have had beautiful weather the latter part of the summer, although it is rather cool to day, a fire does not feel at all uncomfortable. we are a going to have considerable many apples. not very many peaches or Plumbs. cheese we milk four cows, we have made 5 cheese Sep first it is now nine oclock but I must finish this epistle to night & send in the morning, Minerva and Mary came here this morning. and about noon we had some friends come from Ridgeway they are here to night I have had a new bonnet this summer it is white trimmed with flowers cost $4.50 and a new dress Shally delaine eighteen pence a yard I have got a calico one now I am a making it 10 cents a yard it is very pretty I am a going to Lockport to School this fall. in about two weeks I shall stay until April. I have not been to school this summer. Amy goes all of the time she was very much dispointed when I recieved your letter and none for her tell Libby to write next time and Charly to. Ben dont have time and then he thinks it is such a task to write I think if he would test it oftener he would not find it such hard work we were sorry to hear that Uncle Lewis had gone.
