Chattanooga Sept 21 1864 Dear and Affectionate Wife and Children again to day i take Pen in hand to address you i am well and hope this will find you the same i Wrote you yesterday that we were Going to leave hear and i did not no whear i should be sent to we broke up ower tent Last nite and their is no one in it but the Other nurse and myself and we should Probably have been Ordered off before now only it has Rained all day like fury and it has not stoped yet but i Exspect to be Sent to my reg perhaps to morrow tell Frank that as he has been a Good Boy and Worked So hard this Summer his Father feels Proud of him and i want him to do the Best he can for his old mMther and Brother and Sisters untill i come home and i will reward him for it if i never leve to get home God will reward him for the Same he must Do as he thinks Best about Pulling in that Peace to Wheat this fall if he has not allready Don it tell him i want him to be Carefull and not turn aney thing in to the Orchard that will brouse the fruit trees and to be Carefull of them and in your next letter i want you to tell me how the trees get alonf and Wheather thay have growed aney this Summer or not tell mother Hatty that she must not think so hard she will kill her Self if she does that us what makes her leg so mutch worse i think i am so Sorry that Little maty has got the ague and Poor David he has always got to have it i believe cant you get something to Brake it up on him i want you mother to take good care of him till Pa come home so he can see how his little man David has growed but you say Charly is as fat as a Pig i will Shake Some of the fat off of him when i come home i tell you me Charly and [after?] Etty and Harry too i will you little Raskels you i will send a Book to Day that is cauld Nicks Way and it may do you to pass away an idle ower with and then it will Pleas the Children when you are through with it Give my love to Grand Father and Noah i have always mentioned them in my Letters to George but he has never ment -ioned them to me in his tell them i shall write to them as soon as i get to whare u shall stop so i can tell them whare to direct to give me kind Love to Aunt Peggy [illegible in original] and mary if you see them tell them i would Like to from them and i do most [illegible in original] with maty in her Great loss and may God Bless and Watch Over her is the Sinsear Wish of her unckel but i will have to Close soon but before i do so i want you to Say to you that i want you to Write to me and tell me What unckel George is dooing and Wheather he went to Canada or not and how Bad he was scared and so on you will no what i mean when you See his letter that i Sent you but Dont say aney thing about it so he hears of it again till Come home and now Mother and Hatty and all of the Children good by for this time and may God Bless you for Ever O.G.
