Camp Grand Rapids March 6th /64 Dear Wife and Children I am well and hope this will find you the same I am hear and shall remain hear until we get our pay which they say will be this week tell Lewis not to forget his promise to me and if i Do not leave hear in 4 or 5 Days i will write again and you had not better write to me until you hear from me again i have seen Nick Gramm hear and some others from [Locke?] and and i found one of Old Pains boys hear we did not leave corunna till saturday afternoon we have soldiers fare hear i suppose but if i ever get aney wons i shall be satisfied but this is enough for this time Deek and Shellman are well Clark we left at Corunna tell the boys to be good and mind their mother but again tell Louis to be shure and make a move to get us out on a furoo as they give non hear unless some won interseeds for them as i wond to arange some of my buiness before i leave the state as well as to see my wife and little ones a short time before i go south Give my best respects to all enquiring friends and now i must quit i dont no as you can read this as my pensil is poor and i am writing this on my knee if you do write Direct to 14th Michigan Inft.
