Kingston Nov 3rd 1864 Dear and Affectionate Wife and Children again i take Pen in hand to Address you a fiew Lines i am well as usual and hope this will find you in the Same State of health i Wrote you from Chattanooga that i was Going to Joyn my Reg was Going to Start that knight as 6 oclock well i Started went from their to Rome found the Reg their Stayed their 2 Days then Started from their come to this Place 18 miles in one Day have been hear now this makes 2 days Dont no when we Shall march ct from hear to morrow though Exspe^ but wheare to i Dont no i have not Received aney Letter from home in 2 weeks but i Got one from [Truman?] Spencer and their was One come from home from Hatty to Lute as Lute was not hear i opened it fowend you was all well heard Frank had Killed a Turkey and was Proud of it that was Write he aut to be proud of it i was Glad (a) to hear that George was^ Good Boy now and i hope he will Continue to Do So Lewis i Left in Chattanooga i have not heard from him Since i Left him but hope he is in a Good Place and Doing well George & Charly are Boath hear and Well we have not Drawen aney Pay yet hope we will Soon as i want to Send you Some home as it is comeing Cold Weather and Everry thing with you is So high Prised but we Shall Get along i no i have not mutch to Write this time but hope Soon to have mare to Write i Seen Brother William Last nite and also Charly Luke John Deforest Robert Seoth and Mose Hill thay were all well and i Seen the other Day from Lucke John Olds Charly Marsh and the men that owens Lutes Old Place i have forgetten his name [Bristoues?] Bay i Seen in Chattanooga he was at the Hospi tal had the Measels Dutch John from Williamston the Blacksmith is in Chattanooga but i Did not see him i Seen Bill Starkes and Clark Tenehout their that were all Well yesterday i Seen Charly Benneth from Lucke he was Well Charly Towesly is at atltanta and as i have no more to Rite i will Close by hopeing that this may find you all Well hopeing also that Lewis will Soon be Well Enough to Eather go home on a furlow or join the Reg and now Kiss all of the children for me and Believe me as Ever your Affectionate Husband and Father till Death To Elizabeth O.G. Dunckel and Hatty write soon and often and i will do the same if i am in a place wheir i can but you must not stop writing if you do not get aney from me as we are some times whear we cannot write and at the same time the mail will come to us from home the same as when we wore on that last raied the we had to march from daylight till after dark and so we had no chance to write but ower mail come to the Reg once in about 2 days all the time so you see we can often hear from ower friends if thay will write when thay cant hear from us as their is some times no mail going out from us for fear it may be captured and thus find out what we wore dooing and now again i wil close so good buy for this time OG Dunckel
