Camp at Morrisville NC April 30 /65
Dear and beloved Wife and Children again
I take time to address you a fiew Lines 
to Let you know that I am Well and
hope this will find you the Same
We have had an Order to March
in the Morning which will be
the first Day of May to March
Washington to Get Ower Discharge
and we will have to march it all
the Way on foot I Dread it for
the Weather hear is verry hot and
it will be a hard march and
meny will Give Out on the Way
but I am in hopes I Shall be
able to Stand it for the Idea of
Getting home Once more to See
My Wife and Children will
Sustain Me on the March I
Exspect now to be at home in
about Six Weeks or about the
Middle of June but Cant tell 
for Sertain Some Whear about
that time I hope and I want

Frank to put in all the corn

and potatoes he Can as I hope
to be at home time Enough to 
help him to hoe it out and take
Care of it and I want him to
hire or take 2 or 3 Acres of grou
-nd and put in Some Buckwheat
if you Cant Get the Seed you must
Get the Money of Hatty to Buy it
with and I will pay her when
I Come home and I want him to
have it in by the 15th of June
if posable I had Reather he woould
hire 2 Acres of Land if he Can
Get it Reasonible then to take it
on Shairs if he has to take it
on Shairs have him take about
3 Acres maby he Can take it of
Grand Pa if not have him take
it of Some Ware as near by as he 
can and Get Good Land and
I want to Get home time Enough
to put in one Acre of turnips if
Posable as we must Said ower living

if we Can and I want you to
have a Good Garden when I Come
home as I am allmost Starved
to Death for vegitables as that is
Something we Cant Get in the
Army and now as this War is
Over I have a Reasinable hope
that we Shall See One another again
but we have a Long March before
us and the Weather is hot Down hear
and Menny Solders that are now
Alive will never Reach home as
Some of them will Sink by the
Way Daily and I may be One of
them but I hope and trust in
God I will Stand it through
and Live to Get home to my
Wife and family but the
mail is going Out and I cant
