This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel is very dissapointed to tell his family he won't be coming home as quickly as he thought. The rebels are rumored to still be giving the Union trouble. He doesn't have any pay to send home, and tells his sons to do the work on the farm until he comes home. Dunckel was happy to hear of a marriage in his hometown and gives his regards to all enquiring friends.
