Dear Wife and children It is with
Pleashure that I Set Down to answer
your Letter of the 22nd of May it
found me Well and I hope this
will find you Well allso but you
will Be Disappointed when you Learn
that I Shall not be able to Come home
yet for Some time at Least as we are
Detained hear for fear that all is not
well yet with the rebs I am Disapoi
-nted verry mutch myself and I woou
-ld have Wrote you before but I was
waiting for Some pay as thay Said
we wore Going to Get Some write
away but that is blowed over and
we Dont Go home or Get aney Pay
for Some time yet at Least John
Mequireron is hear with me and
will Send a Letter in this for his
folks you will Send it to them


and he is well and the Same
Johney as Ever he has been hear 3 times
to See me Since I am hear the Goven
-er of the state of Michigan was hear
to Day and made us a Speach it was
not verry Lengthy and not Verry Smart
either I think you will have to Do
the Best you can and tell Frank
and David thay will have to Do the
work till Pa comes home and Do
the Best thay Can I think we
Shall be able to come home
Some time Between this and fall
Hatty I have not Received aney Letter
from Marryann Lyon as yet it
may come soon however and I 
am also Glad to hear that Malissa
is married as I hope her truble about
a man will now be over and as for
George Tuttle I Dont care wheather
he is Ever married or not one
thing is Shure a man that

will run away because his
country wants his Services Dont
Deserve a Good Wife and I Dont
think he Can Ever Prosper

in a month I Shall try to Get
a furlow and come and See
