Camp Lee March 11th /64
Dear Wife and Children again
i take pen in hand to let you
no that i am well and hope
this will find you all enjoying
the same blessing i have not 
heard from home since i have
been hear i have written home
twist and once to Spencer i
wrote to him for my sertificate
to enable me to draw my State
bounty but have not heard
form him yet i have been
called out to draw my Atate
Bounty but could not becose
because i had no sertificeate
their is no chance to get
a furlo hear we will go
to Jackson in a fiew days
and i hope then to get a

short furlow to come home
before i go south i have
some buisness i want to
settle up before i go south
and likewise i want to
see you all once more
before i go for good you
must keep up good courage
Lewis told me when he left
Corunna that he would
by a ton of hay of Garrett
tuttle is he could if he has 
not done it you go to Garret
and tell him to let you have
it if he can and i will pay
him when i come or if i dont
come i will send it to him
in a fiew days if you get
out of flower go to George
Dunckel tell him to let you
have some and i will

Do the same by him as i see
i would do by old Garrett
Tuttle we shall not be mustered
for pay until the day before
we leave hear but as the
Reg has to report at Jackson
on the 27th we cant stay
hear match longer it is
snowing hear all day long
to day and has been cold
hear for Several Days past
we have anough hear to Eat
but some find [buck?] we had
for Dinner to Day Bread and
Cold Beef Coffey and Been
Soup we have a plenty
                     told
but tell Lute ^ that if i was
                     me
not at home^ by last monday
he would fetch me out
but i have not heard from
him yet hope i shall tho

their is Everything Going
on hear that one can think
of Lying Swareing Card Playing
and all manner of Stealing
one Boy had his Pocket cut 
open in Brod Day Light and
65 Dollars taken out but
that is onely one case out
of maney but i must quit 
soon give my Respects to
[matty?] and all the Rest
of my enquiring friends
and now Dear Wife and
children receive for you
