This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel visited George Price at the hospital although Dunckel was sick himself and the walk took a lot out of him; he owes a lot to George, however, and tells his wife to take him into their home if George returns from war and he does not. He makes many comments about money and how to use the $25.00 he sent home. Dunckel also asks about the state of the crops and how the neighbors are doing.
