This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel is in the hospital and expects to stay for some months. He hasn't heard from his family in a while and is worried something is wrong at home. He is sending money home and explains where he got all of it from.
