Louisville K.Y. Nov.. 17th 1864 Dear Lucy thinking likely you would like to know whare I am stoping I will write you a few lines I left Ypi.. at noon Teusday at Mich..City same evening at 9 o'clock changed trains and in 15 minuits was of for Indianopolas arrived thare next morning at 7. o'clock left for Jeffersonvill at 8 oclock at Louisville 2 o'clock same day found our regiment was in camp about two miles from the city so I thought I would ^ stop with them I was in camp and eating Hard tack in less than thirty hours from home I found lots of company on the way and enjoyed myself some. I got here just as quick as I should if I started Saturday I found a lot of our Boys in Indianoplis who started Saturday (more of a hurry than I was) we are camped in a nice place the regiment are most all here & will reorgenise at this place it is the first time we have been sent to the rear for equipments & the Boys are expecting good times I think likely that we shall be here some time I have lots to do as thare has been nothing done with the clothing Books since I left but I shant have to drill while I am to work at them drilling I dislike and I shant do it if I can help it and I guess I can you will excuse this short letter as the time has been short since I told you all I knew Othniel Pleas Direct to Louisville K.Y Co "A" 4th Mich Cav
