Camp Minty April 13th /63 To Miss Lucy Dexter Once more I take my pen to write you a few lines I have not much news to write but will try & write a little I received a ltter to day that you wrote to me the first of January one of our Boys had carried it up to this time it came in when I was out on a scout & he had forgotten to give it to me. I gave him a good blowing up. you better beleive guess he wont do so again, I thought that I would answer it Hat has never sent any word to me before, she is mighty clever in saying that if it rains I could stay all night I supose over she new I would. I am glad to hear she is all sound on the goose. tell her I am all right & give my best respects to that beau of hers I wish I new his name myself and one of the Boys got a pass and went to the Hospital and see Angle yesterday (Sunday) I had not seen him before since he left our camp I dont see as he has gaind any he is bad of. I think he will be sent Home before long he is in what they call the Field Hospital it is a nice place I would not ask to go to a better if I ware scick he is about 2½ miles from our camp I shall go & see him again in a few days if I can [Liman?] Turner is thare with him & will take care of him if nessary over our Brigade has been out five days I should have been with them if my horse had not given out & I did not have time to draw another we have heard bad news from them but dont know how true it is. I have had more [leaure?] time since they went out than any time before since I left Detroit I have been to lazy to write much Frank arrived here yesterday and he told me some news he was tired when he got here but fells well to day I was glad to see him but wish he could have got a discharge for I am affraid he aint tough enough to stand it but if he cant stand it he will have to cave in. answer this Plese do excuse my lazyness in not writing more I know you will Othniel [Written on right hand side of Scan 3] I am well you might no that
