In Camp nere Columbia 45 miles from Nashville April 18th /63 Dear Lucy I will do just as I agreed to once and write as soon as I get to camp I left Detroit Fryday evening at six oclock and reached Nashville Sunday evening at six found our regiment had moved so we went to the Soldiers home and stayd over night took the cars this morning and come to this camp all right found the Boys all well except [Tip?] he is so as to be around I was glad to get back to camp and I guess the Boys ware glad to see me they acted at anyrate I enjoyed myself first rate while at home I tell you it was hard leveing. I have been in camp two or three hours and our company have just got orders to go out on a scout & I am going with them for I should be to lonsome here in camp. we expect to be gone six days so dont think strange if you dont here frome me very soone the letters you wrote me are all right I have just writen to our folks excuse this short letter as I have not time to write a longer one now hoping this will find you feeling as well as it leves me I will stop it was all right my being gone a little over my time the Captain said he would not of reported me if I had stayd a week longer Truly Yours Othniel
