Minnie mainly reminisces about memories from college and asks about the well-being of friends. She mentions that she "has been out calling" with Ira, and she strongly dislikes the ordeal. She also notes that soldiers are camping on the fairgrounds in Ann Arbor and one of the officers from Detroit is "real splendid." In addition, Minnie opines the fact that Lottie was not around for commencement week.
