Porter Family Papers (c.00179)

This collection contains correspondence and printed materials relating to the Porter, Prindle and Pierce families, primarily to Grace Porter Pierce of Grand Ledge, Michigan. The correspondence includes letters from Horace Greeley, connected by marriage with the Porters. It also includes marriage and school certificates; Civil War pension applications; horoscopes prepared for Grace Pierce; family genealogies; materials dealing with the history of Grand Ledge (1935-1936); and a letter from Richard Nixon to Grace Pierce (1957). Collection includes carte-de-visite photographs.
