Simeon confirms that he was able to send Cindonia $165 because he finally received his back pay and bounty (his reward for enlisting). He says his bounty was $100 even though he previously stated that he earned the $300 bounty that went into effect two days before he enlisted. Simeon goes on to describe an attempted Confederate raid on Cummings Wood Yard (about sixty miles from Simeon's location) that never materialized, but led to the destruction of a section of railroad track.
