			Dear Wife.
It is with plesure that i Sit
down to right A few lines to
you to let you know how
I am at present I do not feall as
well at present as I have as i
have done most of the time 
but I think it is the weather
it has ben a rainy time for about
a week but it has stopt raining
and it looks like fine wether the
sun is shinging clear and I am
righting under the shade of a tree
and i feal better i shall do well
enuf when i get used to this
Climate i hav not ben so but
what i hav ben able to do duty
all the time that i had any to
do so i think i am doing very
well. peter. Bell has got the mumphs

but he is a getting better he is
the boy that Come with me i never
hav had the mumphs yet and i
hav ben exposed to them a good
many times since i left home a
good many of the boys hav had

them and got well i ^ escaped them
as yet unless i have got them
now if i hav they are very light
my throught has ben sour sore
but it is better i keep taking pills
to keep my blood and liver in
order so i mean to do all i can
to keep well and leave the
rest with god it is good to
have a saivore to trust in he has
promist to takcan cair of us if
we put our trust in him the onley
time that i ll take Comfort
is when i can get away by my self
and read my bible and pray to
my god for my Self and my Dear
wife and Cildren. my prayers to god
is that we may all be Spared to meat

meat again on earth if consistant
with his will but if not that we
may make one unbroken famley in
the kingdom of hevan pray for me
my dear wife that i may be kept
faithfiul. keep up famley prayer
and god will bless you.
we heav had a light frost hear
and the leaves begin to fal of the
treeas the corn is now Just rite to
cut up now they hav had good
crops hear fal wheat looks well 
her i got a letter from you
the 5th and i should have ansured
it but the oficers was so bissey
that they could nottend to me
but i got them at it to day
So i will send this to night i thig
thinght that this will do if
let mr black do the bisness ness for
you have it done as quick as you
can right and let me know as
you Soon as you can i was sory to
hear that Aaron had enlisted but

all for the best god knows best
go over to canada whenever you want
to go but i would like to have you
tend to your bountty first for we i
am a fraid you wonnt get it
if you donnt tend to it Soon
when you go give my love to all
the folks i have got a letter from
Carley and he is well and back to
his rigement again he rote me a
good letter i will send it to you
i have sent $8dollars to [illegible in original]
for a bugle i a am aging to [illegible in original] blow
the bugle it will be agood deal
better for me i shall not hav

to do any gard duty nor havy ^
gun to Cary i thinkgh it will be
better for me right ass soon
