Sir, You will on Tuesday the 19th inst, and every day thereafter until other- -wise ordered, detail from your Company, Sixteen (16) men for night duty, from 8. o’clk P.M. until 12. o.clk M. Your district will embrace that part of the City South of Court St, and the Pigeon Roost Road. You will distribute your men as the circum- stances require. No arrests are to be made unless in extreme cases of Emergency, and then all prisoners will be delivered to the first City policeman, who will take them in charge. The men when on duty will observe closely all suspicious persons and places and report the Same to the Officer in charge, every morning. Great care should be observed by the men to avoid difficulty with the present police and to make as little display as possible of their being on duty. S.B. Beaumont Sup’t. M.P.
