I received your leter yes
terday was very glad to hear
from you. I have not
been very well since sab

bay and I guess I got sea sick
I hope you will recover of
your sickness. I was at fort
Monroe Monday left for
this place tuesday
got here about 4 oc
wee are expecting a batle
here evry day the rebels
are aroun here 50 thousant
strong the 11 cavelry made
a change and capture
d one of the reble bateries
and took 150 prisners
our gun boats are sheling
their slandy My company
has been on the
scout for 6 days and
get orders to stay 6 
more one man was shot
