B.H Thomas Sir it becomes My painful duty this morning to inform you of the death of your son Amos. he died at the Small Pox Hospital this morning at three oclock A.M. the Dr and the chaplain had informed me that he was doeing well. And I think he was until a few hours before he died. I do not know whether he had his papers with him or not; As I was away with my company when he arived but suppose he had, and will try to find them, And have him regularley entered on the Books of the Company, Our Regiment, he received his clothes At Harrisburg, And was with the remnant of the Company, left in Camp, one day.
