A letter from Webster Teachout, a Union soldier, to his father. Webster talks about his experience travelling in the army, as well as seeing men try to enlist but being rejected or trying to run away. He also talks about having a good time interacting with his fellow soldiers and requesting his family wait to write him back until they've received his money.
