Louisville Ky March 5th 1865 Dear father now having a fiew leasure moments to spend I thought I would wright you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and hope these fiew lines will find you the same the boys are all well and tough most of the Rome boys have gon to Nashville Tenn we expect to go evry day we dont know how long we shal stay their probly not long they went on the river and we are going buy railroad it will take them about a weak to go buy water and only about 48 hours buy rail we drawed our horses last night and the prospect is we will leave right off we drawed our pay last Saturday and I expressed Sixty Dollars to you buy Adams Express company I have got the receit and if you cant get it with out it right and I will send the receit buy male to you you will haft to pay the expressage on it when you take it out for I forgot to pay it I was in such a hury but it will come through just the same also I sent you a box of things about the time Aunt Lidy went home from hear and wright and let me know wheather you got it or not I have got me a damed ugly horse but he is just as nice as you can find weigh just 10 hundred dark sorrel fat as a seal none of the rest would not take him for he was so ugly they could not bridle him but I took him this morning and put a bridle on him and rode him all around camp he is a splended riding horse but it is a hard job to bridle him but I guess I can bring him to it after a while I Shal probly get a chance to see some of the boys that I know when I get to Nashville Pri Carpenter is their and a boy of their his name is Walice Chafey the chafee down to marge town Mr Shaw sais that he is glad that you done as you did with Mr Sturns and wants to know wheather you made him pay the cost or not what you made in geting it no more at present wright soon and often I remain as ever your son W Teachout to his father Welcome Teachout Rome Mich
