March the 23th 1865 Dear Sister now having a fiew leasure moments to spend I will right you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and all the rest of the boys except Dent we left him at Knox ville I haint hurd from hin since and I hope thease fiew lines will find you all well I with the rest of the combrland army aer now moving to the front as fast as we can we are movig evry day a little ways Tell Father that I saw Put Stinson he is in the 10 michigan he is well and tough he nt came our to our regime^ and he now clark Decker and Eugene then he inquired if they ware ing one else from that and they spoke of me and he came and saw me he called me buy mam and I looked him in the face and asked him if his mane was Stinson he said it was you spoke of my mony and wanted to know if I drawed eny having I drawed 1 enstallment BB JJ CS also 4 months Wages I sent sixty to you you sed you had got it all right that 10 dollars that I lent I got and took it and put five more with it and bought me a pair of cavelry boots I tried to draw a pair when we start ed but they could not draw none and so I thought rather than to get far feted I had beter buy me some you spoke and wanted to know if I got Emily Houlands letter I did and have answered it Uncle Miles also rate me one I have answered that also you must right just as often as you can and I will do the same we have got a mail rout so we can get mail but it is hard geting it out so if you dont hear from me you must keep righting and dont get discoureged if you can git 15 Dollars for that revolver sell it not with out if you can send me some paper and envelopes do so for I cant get them hear the last letter I was mailed the 16 of March that I got from you I got these postage stamps all right I rate this in a very great buy no more at this time I remain as ever [Written on right side of letter] your brother W Teachout [End]
