Lenore Tenn June 6th 1865 Dear father now having a fiew leasure moments to spend I thought I would answear your kind letter which I received this morning it was riten the 29 of May I was glad to hear from you but I dont get as meny letters as I should like to from you you must keep right on riting if I do stop for I will rite just as often as I can when we are off on a raid we cant rite only once in a while but I ocupied evry chance that I had off on this raid that was only twice but I am inhopes that their will not bee no more raiding done and that we wont haft to go so long without hearing from each other thatr is a great many reports in camp and they all seem to say that the new recruits are to bee mustered out or the one years men rather their is some to or three hundread new recruits what has just joined the regiment yesterday all the boys what was left bhind and all the boys that was taken prisoners on the Saltville raid at the same time that George Ayers and William Hoad they both came in and joined the regiment they are all tough and well so is all the rest of the boys Dent is got well and is prety tough and fat George teld is tough and well he has been on old Gilams staff most of this raid and has had a prety easy time of it and has had a chance to rite sone ofteners than the rest Well father I have just moved camp about a mild and put up a tent and in doing so I raised three large blisters on my hand so you can see what kind of a fit my hands will bee for work when I get home but I think that I can soon break them in at leas I can try but at the time I get home I want you to get that bugy fixed up and also the best driving horse you can find and I want a nice one to one that can go right a long it is just like this we may bee home in to weaks and we may not bee to home in four months I cant tell nothing about it but I think if we come home before our time is out that we will go home within to or three weaks and if we dont come in that time we wont bee their awhile our time is up that is my opinion of it only but I have just as good a one as eny bodies if it rite no more at present rite soon and often I remain as ever your son W Teachout
