November 2th 1864 Dear father now having a few leasure moments to spend I thought I would wright to you and let you know how we get along I am well and hope you the same the boys are all well as far as I know they have divied the new recruits all up into all of the companies and their e are not hardly to in the sam^ company they have changed and put me in Co L and I dont know what companies the rest is in they haint none of the rest of the boys but me in Co L the rest of the regiment has gon to mount Stirling and their they are sent all around to keep the rebs cool through lection there is a quite a stir down hear about election the boys some will hurrah for little much and their will bee another that will hurrah for Abe and the little mack man will say that he can whip any Lincoln man and they well tell him his chance is good and like as not they will go at it and have a regular nock down there is just such caces to or three times a day some days they have sent me to my company for the reason cornal brown sent in a petition to cornal ratliff to send all of his ordlies to their comp anies so they sent me to my company and I got their and they said they had trans fured me to to co L so I am in Co L there is a good lot of boys their but they are all strangers to me almost the things you sent to me buy hank Cole he brought through and gave me all right and they came very excepitible and now buy my being ditailed away from my company so and coming back so late I shal bee thrown out of my [?] pay this pay day and I am almost out of money and I want you to send me twenty or twenty five Dollars put it right into a letter and put it in big bills as you can and I want you to send it just as soon as you can after you get this letter be shure and hurry it through for I haint had only what I I took from home with me yet and I have got 25 cents lefft enough to get my washing done this next weak I shant draw my pay untill almost to months then I shall draw three months wages then I shal have money a plenty you neadent send me any box yet a while for I dont know whear we are a going to put up for winter when I find out I will wright and have you send me one wright sooner than you do and a good deal oftene -r than you have yet for I want to hear from you oftener Pleas Direct as before only put L whear A was Direct Mr Webster Teachout Co L 11th Mich I remain as ever Cavelry Lexington your son Ky W Teachout
