This is a letter from Webster Teachout, a Union soldier, to his father. Teachout tells his father he received a package from him, but mostly talks about the presidential elections coming up. One of his friends has changed his political views since joining the army. Also, some soldiers talked about being pressured to vote for a certain candidate by superior officers.
