Dear father now having 
a fiew leasure moments
to spend I take my pen
in hand to let you
know that I am well
and hoping this to
find you the same
we are having prety
cold weather hear now
and no conveniences for
keeping warm as we ought
to have we are expecting
a tents evry day but
dont know how soon
they will come if we
get them and our pay
which we expect then
we can live like cittens 
but we can get along

just as we have for
a time past Eugene is
well and tough as ever
and sends his best respects
to you all Stone is in
the hospital as nurce that
is a place that would
not suit me but it
just suits him Willey Bond
is in the hospital he
catched cold and setled on
his lungs and he has 
chill and feaver evry
day he is not very sick
yet and am inhopes he
wont bee Charles Rider is
well and tough as ever
