Mt Sterling Ky February 10th 1865 Dear father now having a fiew leasure moments to spend I thought I would Wright and let you know how I get a long I am well and hope these fiew lines will find you the same and was glad to hear that youg got home all right and found things sound and was glad you enjoyed your visit so well the boys are all well except Dent Willey is well and gon to his Company Charles Rider is prety well but he haint tough yet Dent has ben prety sick but is better now and I am in hopes that he may get along Strong al still stays at the hospit^ the regiment sent out 4 companies the other day after the gurilies that I spoke of in my last letter the ones that took the stage horses between paris and Mt Sterling they got six of them and one of them ofers to turn states evidence against the rest if they would liberate him also tell them whear the rest staid and said that they had over 5,000 Dollars worth of property secreated and if they will protect him he will go and show them wheare their is still more besides that and I guess that they will liberate him but they dont know how far to trust these gurilies they are a going to shoot the rest of them they wont show them no quarters Mr Shaw sais that is all right the way you disposed of his money and wishes you to do the best you can with the note and sais that you shal be well reward rewarded for it when he gits home if he ever does tell Mother that a box such as I sent for wouldent not come a mis for we live on government rations entirely except a little milk which we git once an a while we still stay at the fort whear we was when you was hear it is prety cold hear but not as cold as it was when you was hear there is more snow than their was when you was hear I dont think of eny more at present so I will close From your son W Teachout to a Father Welcome Teachout Webster Teachout Co L 11th Michigan Cavelry Lexington Ky
