The structural effects of team density and normative standards on newcomer performance
"This dissertation investigates the impact of team density and team standards on newcomer performance. Data were collected from 204 newcomers, with results indicating that the team density had a substantial negative effect on newcomer performance. Moreover, although a positive effect was predicted, analyses indicated that the team standards had a trivial impact on newcomer performance. An interaction effect between team density and team standards was also predicted, but the hypothesis failed to receive any statistical support. This dissertation ends with a detailed discussion in which the contribution and implacations of this research are addressed, and directions for future research are offered."--Abstract.
