Nutritional inadequacies and determinants among adolescent school girls in rural Tanzania
"Nutritional inadequacies are significant problems in developing nations such as Tanzania. Nutritionally high-risk groups are children under 5 years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly. The high rates of adolescent pregnancies in Tanzania exacerbates the viscous cycle of maternal-child malnutrition and under development for the nation. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and determinants of nutritional inadequacies such as stunting, underweight, anemia, and low iodine status (UIC <50 æg/L) among adolescent schoolgirls in rural Tanzania, Kilolo district." -- Abstract.
