Implements (object genre)
These nickel-plated mechanical ice cream scoopers came in different sizes and shapes and were on the market by the early 1900s. Some were also sold for dishing mashed potatoes. The lever on the side was pressed with the thumb in order to push the ice cream out of the scoop and into the bowl.
