This labor-saving devices was created in order to grind meat for use in such things as sausages. The machine was designed to be clamped onto the edge of a table or counter using the clamp at the bottom. Meat was then fed into the cup-like receptacle at the top and the wooden handle was turned, causing the blades inside to move and the meat to be fed down into the machine. The resulting ground meat was then expelled through the side opposite the handle.
