Rutgers One—Week Turf Course:

 

The Rutgers One -Week Short Course in Turf Management
will be held at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. on Feb—
ruar3 13—17, 1956 Our ;ood friend Ralph E. Engel has arranged
a very interesting and instructive program for the week, so all
members of the N.J.G.S.A. are urged to be present and support
your own state's Turf Program. You will find it well worth your
time,

The Annual Banquet will be held on Thursday evening,
February 16 at 6:00 P.H. at the Roger Smith Hotel. Why not plan
to attend, for you know what a good time we always have at this
affair,

Meeting Notice:

A regular meeting of the N J. Golf Course Superinten—
dents' Association will be held on Thurs ~day, February 16 at
Rutgers, immediately following the afternoon session of that day,

The meeting will be devoted entirely to business of
he Association and, as you all know, we have plenty to discuss
and plans to be made for the forthcoming year. We urge you all
to be present and bring with you some constructive suggestions
for the improvement of your Association.

A very short meeting of the Board of Directors will
be held prior to the regular meetingo

Heard at The Nineteenth Hole:

 

New Jersey is being represented at the National
Convention in California by Jack Ormond of Canoe Brook Country
Club, Joe Stemmle of Springdale Country Club and Al Radko of
the U. S. Golf Assn., Green Scct‘on.

' Frank Votta, Superintendent of . s x County Country
Club, has been kept busy this winter installing a new watering
system.

Ed Brittain, Supt, of Rumson Country Club is also
busy drawing up plans for a new watering system.

Several changes in positions have taken place
during the winter months. We note the following:

Ben Dziedzie, formerly of Crestmont Country Club,
is now Greunds Superintendent at the Monmouth Park Jockey Club,
Oceanport,

Sam Cifelli, formerly Superintendent at Rockaway
River'Colf Club, Denville has taken over 3en‘s chores at
Crestmont C,C,

Charles Storrier is new in charge at Greenacres
Country Club.

James O'Gibney is the Superintendent of the Fort
Monmouth Officers Club Golf Course.

Ted Radko has beeL employed by the Knoll C. C. as
their Superintendent.
