MARCH 1953 FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK . . . . . How do you like our new look? We hope that it meets with your approval and that you will be looking forward to receiving ”Grass Clippings” every month. It is just one of the many plans that your committees have in store for you for the com- ing year. It is a new endeavor on our part, so as in all new ventures, we will probably make a few mis- takes. As time goes on we hope that your pint- sized bulletin ”Grass Clippings” will improve. We hope to include in this pamphlet any- thing that will be of interest to the New Jersey Golf Course Supt’s Association; occasional messages from the officers; news items of the golf course; what is happening in neighboring associations; no- tice of our own forthcoming meetings; articles from Rutgers; and anything else that may benefit the Association. In order to make this bulletin a success we need your wholehearted support. So, if you know of or‘have anything that will interest the boys,or if you just want to ”sound off”, get in touch with Al Foster, T. George Conley, Sherwood Moore, or Toney Mascaro. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the confidence you have shown in me by electing me as your president for the ensuing year. Thanks also for backing me up with a fine group of officers. We will do the best we can, and with your support are looking forward to a most successful year for the NJ. Association. Remember, this Association is not run by one person or a group of two or three persons, but by every member in the Association. 80 when we say support we really mean it - - come out to the meetings, join in the discussion, have your say, and enjoy good fellowship. Those of you who did not turn out for the February meeting at The Mountainside Inn missed an exceptionally fine meeting. We had one of the best round table discussions that our Association has had in a long, long time. Proof of that is the fact that we did not break up and head for home un- til close to five o’clock. Just ask any of the fel- lows who attended! I’ll be seeing you at Metuchen on March 10th. Sincerely, Sherwood Moore NICK'S NOTES . . . .
