FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the confidence you have in me by re—electing me President of your Association for l9Sh. I accept with mixed emotions, knowing full well that your officers need the entire suppert of the Association to make it a successful year. We had many fine meetings during 1953 and even inaugurated a few new ven- tures. We hope that l95h will be even better, for perhaps now we can bring about some of the ambitions and plans we have been thinking about. Your Board of Directors are already busy, as we held our first meeting af- ter the regular session on January 26, and have a few important recommendations to present to the membership on February 16. Your committees are being appointed and to date we have the Program Commit— tee which is composed of Joseph Stemmle, Chairman; Ralph Engel, Jack Ormond and T. George Conley and the Golf Committee consisting of Robert Kapher, Chairman; Ben Dziedzic; Bob Grant and Al Rathjens. The Program Committee is anxious to draw up a tentative program for the year, but in order to do this must know the dates and clubs we are going to visit during the season. So come prepared at our next meeting or send word if your club is avail— able and the month preferred. The above information is also important to the Golf Committee as they too are anxious to draw up their plans for the year. Thus already we need your coopera- . tion and support. Here‘s to l95h being a banner year for the New Jersey Golf Course Superin- tendents Association. I will be looking forward to seeing everyone of you at our monthly meetings. Sherwood A.
