Bill, who did such a fine job at our recent Canadian Superintendents Con­ ference, has joined the teaching staff of Iowa State University. Dick Hale, editor of the Golf Superintendent magazine, has also recently resigned. Since moving to Lawrence, Kansas, the staff turnover ap­ parently has been quite substantial. OBITUARY Since our last newsletter, four very unfortunate deaths have occurred. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to families and friends of those involved. A well known gentle­ man to most Superintendents in Ontario, "Dr. George Smith" of Truro, Nova Scotia died suddenly of a heart attack, while on the golf course, April 15. The brother of Blake McMaster, and the father of John Bennett also died during the month of April.
