ISGA JOURNAL AND TURF MANAGEMENT VICTORY FLING Arnold Palmer whips off his cap and tosses it into the air after com­ pleting his final round in 65 strokes in the 60th Open Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club, Denver. A few minutes afterwards he learned he was the new Open Champion. Palmer scored 72-71-72-65—280 and his last stroke was a five-foot putt. Jack Nicklaus finished second with 71-71- 69-71—282, highest placing by an amateur since 1933 when John Good­ man won the Championship.
